I have been given back my life with my new knee and my new hip and am able to perform activities now that I never thought I'd do again. I will continue to tell all of my experience to anyone, as it was truly a wonderful one. I extend my sincerest gratitude to you, Dr. Buscemi."
41 yo female with right total knee replacement performed on 6/29/11- Verilast technology:
"They say the worse accidents happen in your home. Mine was a minor slip in my bedroom of my apartment. I tore my meniscus and had my very first arthroscopic surgery at 22 years old. Six weeks of rehab and I was good until 1998 when I had to have another arthroscopic surgery and was told that I had no cartilage left. I had mild to moderate arthritis in my 30’s. That's when I met Dr. Buscemi for the first time. He was my third opinion that I wanted to get on my knee. My arthritis was now affecting my way of life. Dr. Buscemi is a very uplifting and funny man and I’ll never forget his face when he said that it looks like I have a knee of a 70 year-old woman. I’m in my 40's now. He said eventually I will have to have a knee replacement. I tried to hold off, change my diet, and do my exercises but it didn't work. I saw Dr. Buscemi almost a year later: he took an xray of my right knee and told me it was time for me to have the surgery. June 29th 2011 was the date of my total knee replacement. I could always joke with Dr. Buscemi and that calmed my nerves. I woke up of course not remembering much of the surgery and in a daze until the next day. He told me I did awesome…well he was awesome! I have a Smith and Nephew 30 year new knee! I got up and took my first steps that Thursday bright, alert, and happy. Dr. Buscemi arranged in home therapy for a few weeks and I was shown no mercy! I had regular follow-ups and started outpatient therapy. November 2011, I took a business trip to Vegas. A full week of a conference. I did plenty of walking between sessions. 14 hour work days with no pain and very minimal swelling!! Before I left Vegas, I decided to take a trip to the Grand Canyon. I was in complete awe over the beauty and saw people climb a few of the hills. Without thinking, I did the same! No pain!!! It’s now 6 months later, December 2011, a lot of holiday parties to attend and I was able to dance a little and it felt great. I exercise every day with no pain. I’m feeling great and I went shopping for my very first pair of high heeled shoes…4 inches. I can’t thank him and his staff for giving me the one on one personal attention I needed during my office visits and surgery. The office staff is very attentive and always took the time to listen and answer any question I had. I highly recommend Dr. Buscemi for any orthopedic surgery. He gave me my life back at 42 years old, and I am so thankful."
