Office Hours

Dr. Buscemi's regular office hours are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Wednesday from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, and Friday from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Surgeries are scheduled on either Wednesdays or Fridays.

Medical Emergencies

In the event of a life-threatening medical emergency, call medical emergency services at 911 immediately. DO NOT WAIT! Inform the emergency room staff that you are a patient of Dr. Buscemi and they will contact us.

After Hours Urgent Medical Needs

If you have an urgent medical need and need to talk to Dr. Buscemi after our regular hours, please call our office at (813) 926-4010. A doctor is on-call 24 hours a day. Your call will be returned promptly.

Insurance & Payment

At the office of Dr. Michael Buscemi, Jr., we accept Workers’ Compensation, Medicare, and most major insurance plans. Please contact your insurance company with our tax identification number (30-0582912) to confirm that we are part of your network.

If your insurance plan requires you to pay a co-payment, co-insurance, and/or a deductible, you will need to pay at the time of your visit. For your convenience, we accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

Referrals

If your insurance is an HMO/managed care plan and you are required to obtain a referral from your primary care physician, the referral must be obtained before you can be seen for an office visit. Please coordinate this with your primary care physician in advance. Appointments will be rescheduled if required referrals are not received in the office by the time of your visit.

Prescription Requests

Prescriptions and refills for established patients of Dr. Buscemi are routinely issued during our regular office hours (see above). You can make your request by calling (813) 926-4010. No refills are issued during the evenings, weekends, or holidays, as the providers do not have access to your medical records during those times. It is helpful to anticipate your refill needs to avoid an interruption in your medication therapy as these requests can take up to 72 hours to fulfill.

Prescription Refills

It is the policy of the office to require 72 hours' notice for all prescription refills. All refill requests will be addressed at the end of each business day, except on Fridays. Prescription refills that are requested on a Friday will be addressed the following business day. *Please be advised, as of October 1, 2014, we will not be able to fax nor call in certain medication requests into your pharmacy per Florida law. These will need to be picked up in the office.

Telephone Messages

Telephone messages left for our clinical staff may take up to 48 hours for a response. These are reviewed daily at the end of the business day, not including Wednesdays as there are no providers in the office.
