Michael J. Buscemi Jr., D.O.

Board-certified orthopedic surgeon

Dr. Michael J. Buscemi is a Tampa native who graduated from Chamberlain High School and the University of South Florida. He completed his Osteopathic medical degree in Kansas City, Missouri, and subsequently completed an Orthopedic Surgical Residency in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Dr. Buscemi served in the United States Air Force, stationed at MacDill, AFB as the Chief of Orthopedic Surgery. He was deployed in 1991 in support of the U.S. Central Command headed by General Norman Schwarzkopf during Desert Storm.

Dr. Buscemi is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, with expertise in primary and revision total hip, primary and revision total knee, Birmingham Hip Resurfacing as well as minimally-invasive procedures. Dr. Buscemi is also proficient in caring for general orthopedic conditions, including but not limited to broken bones, ligament reconstruction, and traumatic injuries.

Dr. Buscemi has practiced in the Tampa area since 1991. He has presented papers and has been published locally as well as nationally.

Anjali Bhat, PA-C

Board-certified physician assistant

Anjali Bhat received a bachelor's of science in Health and Sport Studies from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She then earned her master's degree in Physician Assistance from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale.

Ms. Bhat is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She is certified in both basic and advanced cardiac life support and pediatric advanced life support. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

Ms. Bhat serves as an additional health care provider in our office and accompanies Dr. Buscemi as a first assistant in the operating room during surgery.

Joel: Radiology Technologist

Joel is a Radiology Technologist specializing in orthopedic radiology with over 15 years of experience. He takes the time and care to ensure that you are comfortable throughout your procedures.

Jayne Williams: Office Admin

Our front office administrator, Jayne Williams, has over twenty years of experience in the medical field and over two years in the orthopedic surgery field. She keeps all processes in the office streamlined by scheduling all surgeries and handling surgical authorizations.

Renee Bonilla: Orthopedic MA/Radiology Technician

Renee Bonilla began in the medical field as a radiologic technologist and then went on to become a medical assistant in orthopedic surgery. With an impressive twenty-five years of experience under her belt, Renee is a reliable source of patient care skills. She is proud to assist both Dr. Buscemi and PA Anjali Bhat, both of whom she works closely with to ensure patients receive the best possible care. Her extensive experience and skills make her an invaluable part of our healthcare team.
